South Lyon, Michigan

The corps had a great show tonight in Michigan. The energy level was high and the crowd seemed to truly connect with our performance. The staff called it the first show where we struck the right balance between emotion and execution. The entire corps had a good performance collectively, and it was obvious to me that we are starting to function as a whole now. The experience on the field was amazing and I can't wait until we do it again.

Overall we placed third with a score of 83.15, putting us in fourth place in the DCI Open Class rankings. We have another show in Michigan on Wednesday, and then we head back to Ohio for our home show in Columbus on Thursday.

Back on the Road!

After a twelve day stay at Brunswick High School, the corps is getting back on the buses tonight heading to Michigan. We are taking some time off today to do laundry and make a Walmart stop before leaving town. Thanks to everyone who came out to watch, volunteer, and support us during our stay at Brunswick.

We had a show last night in Amherst, Ohio and placed second with a score of 81. Congrats to our drumline, currently ranked first in DCI Open Class. Our next show is tomorrow night.

Niagara Falls

It was a busy day for Capital Regiment. After a 3:45am wake up, the corps performed live on NBC around 6am. We had a short rehearsal before moving out of our housing site and heading to Niagara Falls. We performed a standstill concert in front of the American Falls at 2pm. Part of the performance was broadcasted by NPR, and group pictures of the corps were taken afterward.

Following the performance, the corps got some time off for sightseeing. Tonight we are headed to Brunswick, Ohio for a week and a half stay to regroup before the second half of the season.

Tonight is another long bus ride to Buffalo, New York. In a few more days we'll be in Brunswick, Ohio for an extended stay and a lot of hard work to make the show even better!

From Wisconsin to Virginia

Last night the corps earned a score of 71.9 in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. The overall vibe from the corps was that the performance was not our best as a whole, but regardless we still came out with the highest score out of the 5 Open Class corps that participated.

After a long drive last night, the corps spent the day rehearsing in Springfield, Ohio. It was a productive day despite a late start and some rain later in the day. Tonight we are back on the road headed for Virginia. Our next show is on Tuesday.

Happy 4th of July!
